This Is Us

We are Laura and Joe, siblings with a shared love for woodworking and a deep respect for the environment. Our journey into the world of wood products began with a simple idea: to transform discarded city trees into beautiful, functional art.

Growing up, we were always drawn to the outdoors, spending countless hours exploring the forests and learning about the various species of trees. With Laura's background in architecture and Joe's studies in economics, we realized we could combine our skills and passions to make a meaningful impact. Laura's keen eye for design and Joe's understanding of sustainable business practices laid the foundation for Atlantic Fine Woods.

In our workshop, every project is a labor of love. We meticulously handcraft each item, ensuring it not only meets our high standards of quality but also reflects the unique character of the wood. By choosing Atlantic Fine Woods, you are not only investing in a beautiful piece of furniture but also supporting a movement towards environmental stewardship and sustainable living.

We invite you to explore our collection and join us in celebrating the beauty and resilience of nature. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for helping us make a positive difference in the world, one piece of wood at a time.

A Second Life for Atlanta Trees

Urban trees are the silent sentinels of our communities, providing shade, improving air quality, and enhancing the beauty of our cityscape. Yet, these trees often face challenges like disease, age, and urban development. At Atlantic Fine Woods, we refuse to let these majestic trees go to waste. Instead, we give them a second life by transforming them into exquisite, functional pieces of art.

Our mission is driven by a profound commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. We understand the devastating impact of sending wood to landfills, where diesel engines run wood chippers that ground it into mulch, releasing carbon into the atmosphere. This not only fuels climate change but also squanders the potential to create something beautiful and lasting.

So far, our efforts have prevented 1,410,000 pounds of carbon from polluting Atlanta's air. By repurposing discarded city trees into stunning wood products, we give new life to materials that would otherwise be wasted. Our work not only reduces carbon emissions but also preserves the natural beauty and character of our urban environment.

We believe every piece of wood has a story to tell. From the streets of Atlanta to your home, our creations embody the essence of sustainability, craftsmanship, and respect for nature. Join us in our journey to make a positive impact on our planet, one board foot at a time.

Connecting People to Our City Trees

At Atlantic Fine Woods, our mission goes beyond creating beautiful, sustainable furniture. We are deeply committed to fostering a connection between people and the urban forests that surround us. Each piece of wood we use has a story, originating from trees that once lined the streets, parks, and neighborhoods of our city.

By sourcing our materials locally, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but also preserve the history and character of our city. Each piece of furniture we create carries the essence of the community it came from, making it a unique and meaningful addition to your home. When you choose Atlantic Fine Woods, you are not just purchasing a piece of furniture; you are supporting a sustainable practice that honors our urban environment.

Our work is a testament to the resilience and beauty of Atlanta trees. We believe that by connecting people to these trees through our creations, we can inspire a greater appreciation for the natural world and encourage more sustainable living practices. Together, we can celebrate the stories of our city trees and ensure their legacy continues for generations to come
